Read this line first. DO NOT OVERPAY FOR THIS WHISKEY!!!! Is it a Blanton's? One of the most sought after and allocated whiskies that there ever was? One of arguably the best whiskey brands? Sure. However, I have seen prices well over the gold and straight from the barrel expressions and it does NOT deserve it. So with that out of the way let's give ya some details.
Originally created specifically for markets that tax whiskey based on alcohol proof. It's not an accident that this sits at 80 proof. The mash bill is unknown, but if it's in line with the rest of the Blanton's expressions we can expect it to be Buffalo Trace's mash bill #2 (higher rye). Overall it's inherently similar to the Red and Black expressions, but even lower in proof and flair when compared directly.
Nose: Sugary oranges with a light rye spice. A little bit of oak and floral notes mix around to develop some character.
Palate: A light oily / watery rye spice. Orange, ethanol, a little bit of cinnamon on the backend sparks some life into this one.
Finish: Initially very short and watery, but evolves into a dusty hay, lingering rye and black pepper on the back end

Availability? Rare. (In the US). This expression has not made it to the US yet and I believe that it's mostly only available in Australia, the UK, and Japan. Insert countries that I'm missing. However if you read this review there is no real rush to go searching IMO....
