Review #118 Ezra Brooks Blended Whiskey: Whiskey

Score: 6.3 / 10

Distillery: Lux Row Distillers

Type: Blended Sour Mash Whiskey

Believe it or not even after a year since our Po It Up Whiskey podcast budget picks episode, we never finished this off, or even drank more of it. If you want to hear how it did that night you can check that out right here.

So what is there to know about this whiskey? If you like other things from Luxco such as Rebel Yell, David Nicholson and Blood Oat, let's just say stick with those. I don't think you are going to be super happy with this whiskey, but to each their own. After all, you definitely won't waste much money trying it out.

Whiskey Review:

Nose: Ethanol with very light vanilla, sweet corn and rye. Slightly musty and earthy - no strong smells here.

Palate: Astringent lemon rind cover the palate. The mouthfeel is watery and light. This expression brings faint vanilla and brown sugar with some light cinnamon on the back end and a strong tinge of ethanol.

Finish: A sour green apple note, light burnt caramel, vanilla and brown sugar.

Score: 6.3

Availability? Common. I actually challenge you to call a store and ask if they have this. They might not even know where to look. However, they have it, just go to the store and prepare to be whelmed.
