Review #119 Milk and Honey Classic: Israeli

Score: 8.2 / 10

Distillery: Milk and Honey

Type: Craft Israeli Whiskey

Another Milk and Honey? I barely remember the first one lol. I doubt that our other review of this sold anything for the distillery. However, here we are slowing creeping up in score. I think Israel may be on to something here. We love World Whiskeys. Try them out whenever you can.

Similar to Germany and India, Israel is on the move for craft whiskies. However, this is one of the few that has actually made it to the states. All batches have been in very limited quantities, but at the same time don't exactly fly off the shelves. I strongly recommend having this around if you want something a bit wild. You won't be disappointed.

Whiskey Review:

Nose: Honey and sweet vanilla. Digging deeper I find a sour green apple note, tart lime, lemon and caramel (almost smells like Sprite)

Palate: Astringent orange rind and plum coat the palate at first touch. The whisky then brings forth luscious vanilla and apple. There is a burst of lemon citrus right on the center of the tongue and then it slowly transforms into a light black pepper spice. The mouthfeel is semi viscous and oily.

Finish: Short to moderate in length, light oak lingers with pepper, a wheat/rye note, sweet and malty with a faint cranberry note.

Score: 8.2

Scale:

Availability? Rare. I know one place that carries this, so it may not even be available to you. Check you big stores or a place that has more international expressions. This will not be found around the corner at the local liquor store.
