Whiskey Review:

This bourbon was aged 7 years and bottled at 117 proof (acquired it over a year ago).

Nose: Pepper, fresh cherry, tinge of sour sugar (sour patch kids?) from the charcoal mellow, tons of creamy vanilla with some ethanol heat.

Palate: Very slick and oily. Prickly cinnamon upfront that blends into sugary cherries, stone fruit and citrus. Oak and spice emerge with a big whiskey hug at the end.

Finish: Juicy but short lived, maraschino cherry shines through, turns tannic fast and dries out the mouth.

Score: 8.2
