Review #31 1792 Small Batch: Bourbon
Updated: Aug 8, 2020
Score: 7.4 / 10
Distillery: Barton 1792
Type: Higher Rye Kentucky Straight
1792 is no stranger to the bourbon scene, or any customer roaming the whiskey aisle. Offering many of it's varieties around $35. It's unclear which of the varieties ( Bottled in Bond, Sweet Wheat, Single Barrel, Full Proof, Small Batch, and many more) will still around and which will be discontinued later. So just collect all of them now like our current homepage photo and don't worry about it.
The higher rye content offers more spice than most bourbons and can be similar to Four Roses Single Barrel, Old Grand Dad, Basil Hayden's or Bulleit Barrel Strength.A great table whiskey, or one to try for a bourbon, that you won't have to marry price wise. A solid choice for parties and sharing in general with people that are not huge into whiskey anyway, but something that you also will enjoy. For the price it get's the job done and I buy it all the time!
We didn't taste this one....... but it you want to hear about many other expressions of 1792. Check out the episode 16 of the Po It Up podcast here.
